The Celtic Sun Created for Algebra I. The assignment was to create an art piece and relate it to math. I chose celtic knotwork due to its symmetry and relationship to mathematical principles. The triskellion in the middle for example is started by creating a circle and dividing it into three equal parts. Division is a basic function in math, demonstrating you cannot do this kind of precision art without some math. Click here or image to enlarge. |
